Function or Activities
  • Formulation as well as implementation of plan, policies and programs related to personnel administration and record system.
  • Administrative reforms.
    Act as a focal point for international organizations, institutions and conferences concerned with administration.
  • Formulation of training policies and coordination and evaluation of various training programs conducted by the Government of Nepal.
  • Organize administrative training and coordination and evaluation of various training programs imparted to civil servants.
  • Act as secretariat for the committee constituted under the chairmanship of the Chief Secretary of the Cabinet Secretariat to approve foreign scholarship for the civil servants.
  • Matters pertaining to Nepal Administrative Staff College (NASC).
  • Advice on the policy and principles relating to salary and other fringe benefits.
  • Inter-Ministerial transfer of civil servants.
  • Liaison with the Public Service Commission.
  • Formulation, implementation and timely review of plans, policies and programs related to the appointment, placement, transfer, promotion, disciplinary actions, retirement etc of the civil servants.
  • Administration and operation of Nepal Miscellaneous Service and Nepal Economic, Planning and Statistics Service.
  • Co-ordination of various personnel services within the civil service.
  • Act as secretariat of the promotion committee for the promotion of gazetted officers.
  • Conduct management audit of government offices in conformity with the provision of Civil Service Act.
  • To conduct O & M survey, review the organizational structures and its management practices and procedures.
  • Publication of the Nepalese journal of administration 'PRASHASAN' .
